Add Beauty, Shade and Wildlife to Your Garden

Planting trees is one of the most lasting gifts you can give to your garden, your family and the environment. Whether you’re looking to create shade in the backyard, attract native birds or reduce the heat around your home, there’s a tree for every purpose. I’ve been helping locals choose the right tree for their space for over 47 years.

At Junction Hill Nursery, I stock a lovely variety of Australian native trees and hardy shade trees suited to our local soil and climate. From flowering gums to leafy canopy trees, I’ll help you find something that will grow strong and steady for generations. I can also guide you on planting, spacing and care to give your new tree the best start. While you’re here, you might also like to check out our fruit trees, pots and potting mixes.

Call me on (02) 6644 7339 or drop by the nursery—I’m always happy to help. My nursery is located only 5 minutes from Grafton.

FAQ

Vines Icon
  • How far apart should I plant shade trees?

It depends on the species and how big they’ll grow. As a general rule, give large trees around 4 to 6 metres between trunks to allow room for branches and roots.

  • Do native trees need less water than exotic ones?

Many native trees are naturally drought-tolerant once established. They usually adapt well to local rainfall, but young trees still need regular watering during their first year.
